Lip Blush/ Lip Neutralizing

WHAT SHOULD I DO PRIOR TO MY APPOINTMENT?

1000mg of Lysine can be taken daily for 7 days prior to lip blush appointment.

Oral prescription medication for cold sores if you are a carrier of the virus. Medication is to be started on the day of treatment.

Limit caffeine in take 24 hours prior to appointment.

No alcohol consumption 24 hours prior to appointment.

Drink plenty of water everyday to help lips stay hydrated.

Avoid advil/aspirin/omegas the day of, prior to appointment.

Exfoliate lips everyday starting 7 days prior to appointment to minimize any dead tissue. Moisturize lips frequently starting 7 days prior to your appointmentto prevent chapping and dryness.

Lip fillers/botox lip flips can be done 1 month prior or post procedure. We recommend prior.

Tanning before and after the appointment can affect healed results.

Chemical peels/microneedling laser treatments etc should be scheduled no earlier than 3 weeks prior or post treatment.

Don't plan an event or vacation until your lips are at least surface healed.

Eat before your appointment to regulate blood sugar levels.

 

 WHAT DO I AVOID AFTER TREATMENT?

All makeup (foundation & lip cosmetics) and facial products in the treated area.

Avoid workouts or activities that involve a lot of sweating, tanning beds, swimming pools and massage treatments. 

Spicy foods & hot drinks. Try and drink through a straw for the first 3 days. 

Always apply an SPF after healed to preserve pigments longer.

 

WHAT ARE THE AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS?

 It may be necessary to cold compress after treatment as the area is very sensitive and may cause swelling. A cold compress may be done for up to 24 hours. The area can be blot cleansed with a damp cotton pad and aftercare applied to treated area as needed. Do not let the lips dry out. Aftercare will be needed until the lips are surfaced healed. A slight peeling or flaking may occur. Once surface healed, continue to moisturize lips with a balm or sauce to help keep them hydrated. Please do not rub or pick the treated area as this can cause the premature removal of pigment. Be sure to wash your hands more often and use hand sanitizer to prevent any possible spread of germs that may cause infection.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY TOUCH UP?

Touch ups if needed can be book 4-8 weeks after the initial procedure.
